Ecosystem service tool for urban greening and green infrastructure assessments. In addition, the the tool can be used outside the urban environment.

One of the greatest assets of (urban) green infrastructure is its multi-functional benefits. However, it can be very complex to estimate what these benefits are and how they can be valued, especially in the early stages of a project. The Nature Smart Cities Business Model was developed to fill this gap for practitioners, whilst providing an evidence base to support informed decision making. The Nature Smart Cities business model has been designed specifically to be used in municipalities to assess the value of green infrastructure in urbanised environments. It does this by exploring the impact of different spatial scenarios on ecosystem services. Thereby, users recieve an intuitive overview of how a project can influence the provision of ecosystem services. The use of the Nature Smart Cities Business Model is especially relevant in early project stages to get a rough overview of estimated impacts. It can provide further inspiration as to how projects can be further optimised.
