SUPERB Practice Database

This database compiles responses from 404 restoration practitioners across Europe, analyzing ecological, social, economic, and political factors influencing restoration outcomes. Structured in 56 tables, it offers actionable insights for designing scalable and adaptive restoration strategies.

Developed to support restoration practices, this database compiles hands-on insights from 404 practitioners and stakeholders, gathered through a continent-wide survey. It breaks down the ecological, social, economic, and political lessons from active and completed projects (tracking success factors and failure causes) to equip teams with actionable strategies for scalable, adaptive, and impactful restoration. The database consists of 56 tables organized into three categories: (I) the explanatory table (Table AT00-DATABASE_EXPLANATION in the database file), which provides metadata describing the contents of all other tables; (II) 26 descriptor tables, containing definitions for codes and terminology used in questions and answers; and (III) 29 data tables with all responses from the online survey. The number of records varies based on respondent input, including 404 entries for general participant information, 227 for general data on implemented restoration actions, and 209 for restoration objectives.
