The book "Das Trittsteinkonzept" describes different elements of nature-protection in managed forests. The most important element is the habitat-tree. That can be a single habitat-tree or a group of them (Waldtrittsteine or stepstones).

The book is written for forest owners or foresters, who practice a closed to nature-forestry. But it is also interesting for NGO-members or other friends of woodland. The annex contains the catalogue or tree-microhabitat of European Forest Institute. One of the chapters discusses the economy of Natur protection in woodland-ecosystems. The autor has a longtime experience in integrate-forestry, especially in the forest enterprise Ebrach (Steigerwald/Bavaria). He is member of the european network "Integrate".
